Softened water equipment

Ion exchange method
Methods: the special cation exchange resin was used to replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium ions.
Effec: the effect is stable and accurate, and the technology is mature. The hardness can be reduced to 0.
Scope of application: catering, food, chemical, medicine and other fields, air conditioning, industrial recycling water and other applications. By far the most common standard.
Methods: both NF membrane and RO membrane can intercept the calcium and magnesium ions in the water, thus fundamentally reducing the hardness of the water.
The hardness can only be reduced to a certain range.
Effect: the effect is obvious and stable, and the treated water is suitable for a wide range. It has higher requirements for inlet pressure, higher equipment investment and operation cost.
Application: generally less used for special softening.

The working process：
Work (sometimes called water production, the same below), back washing, salt absorption (regeneration), slow washing (replacement), fast washing five processes. All processes of different water softening equipment are very similar, but due to the actual process or control needs, there may be some additional processes. Any sodium-ion exchange-based water softening equipment is developed on the basis of these five processes (among which, fully automated water softening equipment adds the brine re-injection process).
Backwash: after working for a period of time, the equipment will intercept a lot of dirt from the raw water on the resin. After removing the dirt, the ion-exchange resin can be fully exposed and the regeneration effect can be guaranteed. Backwash is a process in which water comes in from the bottom of the resin and flows out from the top, which washes away any dirt that is trapped on the top. This process usually takes about 5-15 minutes.
Salt absorption (regeneration) : the process of injecting salt water into resin tank. The traditional equipment USES salt pump to inject salt water, and the automatic equipment USES special built-in injector to inhale salt water (as long as there is a certain pressure in the water). In the actual working process, the regeneration effect of brine flowing through resin at a slower speed is better than that of simply soaking resin in brine. Therefore, the softening water equipment adopts the method of brine flowing through resin at a slower speed. This process generally takes about 30 minutes, and the actual time is affected by the amount of salt.
Slow flushing (displacement) : after through the resin with brine, will slowly with the raw water with the same velocity of resin rinse clean all the salt washing process is slower, because this flushing process there are still a lot of calcium and magnesium ions on the functional groups by sodium ion exchange, according to the practical experience, the process is the main process of regeneration, so a lot of people will this process is called substitution. The process usually takes about the same amount of time as salt, about 30 minutes.
Quick rinse: in order to thoroughly rinse the residual salt, use the flow rate close to the actual work and rinse the resin with raw water. The final outlet water of this process shall be soft water up to the standard. In general, the quick rinse takes 5-15 minutes.

2. System water consumption time required by the industry
The system water consumption time is the water consumption per hour, average value and peak value. Equipment can be selected according to the water supply time. If you do not need continuous water supply can choose single valve single tank equipment; If continuous water supply is needed, we need to select the twin-bed centralized control or twin-bed series softening water treatment equipment.
3. Hardness of water source
For the same type of water softener, the water production cycle must be relatively reduced and the water yield is relatively low, which leads to the frequent regeneration of water softening equipment and thus reduces the service life of resin.
